Why Choose Us?
Your home exterior takes the weather all year, and on the South Shore that means salt air on top of everything else. Curb appeal is the obvious reason to keep up with it. Safety, and stopping small problems before they become expensive ones, are the better reasons.
When you hire Fix It Handyman Services, you’re getting more than just a handyman—you’re partnering with a professional who values quality craftsmanship, honest communication, and dependable service. We show up on time, do the job right the first time, and treat your property with the care it deserves. Whether it’s a simple fix or a complex outdoor installation, we bring the tools, experience, and work ethic to exceed your expectations. Let us take the hassle out of home maintenance—so you can spend more time enjoying the space you’re in.
Landscape lighting is mostly about placement
Professionally installed lighting does three things at once. It highlights the parts of your property worth looking at, it makes walkways and steps safe after dark, and it makes the house look considerably more expensive from the street.
Placement is the whole job. Badly aimed fixtures look like a parking lot. Well-placed ones look like the house was always meant to be lit that way. We design and install custom low-voltage systems: uplighting on trees and architectural features, path lighting along walks and steps, and accent lighting on entryways.
Decks, and what actually needs replacing
Loose and cupped boards replaced, popped fasteners reset, railings made solid again, then cleaned and sealed with protective stain. A deck that is structurally fine but grey and splintery usually only needs the second half of that, which is a much smaller job than people assume.
The small jobs that matter more than they look
House numbers securely mounted and legible from the street matter more than people think when a delivery driver or an ambulance is looking for you. Mailboxes set plumb at regulation height and setback stop being a recurring annoyance. Prefab sheds live or die on the foundation, which is what determines whether the doors still line up in three years.
What we do not do
No pressure washing. No gutter cleaning or repair. No eave work. No full fence installation, though we do repair and replace individual fence panels and gates. And nothing on an exterior above two stories.
Written 100% satisfaction guarantee on every job, and 20% off your first service for new customers. Serving Babylon, West Islip, Brightwaters, Dix Hills, Bay Shore, Lindenhurst and Islip.

Exterior work questions
Is landscape lighting expensive to run?
Low-voltage LED systems cost very little to operate, typically a few dollars a month for a whole yard.
When is the best time to install landscape lighting?
Spring through fall is easiest for trenching, but installation is possible most of the year on Long Island.
Can you repair a deck without replacing the whole thing?
Almost always. Most decks that look finished only need board replacement, fastener work and refinishing.
Do you install fences?
We repair and replace individual panels and gates. We do not do full fence installation.
Can you fix my sprinkler system if you did not install it?
Yes. Repairs and head replacement on existing systems are routine for us.
